THE RETURN OF RETRO FASHION

The return of retro seventies fashion is a very interesting phenomenon to me. It's a whole new trend for the 90's. Not only is the fashion back in every sort of way, but the dance style is back also. We now have "Way Back Wednesday" and "Retro Rage" as themes for dance clubs. Why did the fashion of the 70's come back? This is a question I have often asked myself after seeing a teenager sporting bell bottoms and platform shoes. The youth of the seventies wanted to be thought of as individuals and I believe the same is true for today's new generation. The trend of the youth in the nineties is to be different and I think we are achieving this by relating to the attitudes of the seventies. I also believe our generation is simply just fascinated with past generations, especially the seventies. Maybe this fascination has something to do with the fact that most of us were born during the seventies. Maybe our generation just simply likes the floral bodyshirts with butterfly collars and hip-hugging bell bottoms. The return of retro fashion is a phenomenon we will never quite be able to understand.
